When's the best time to go to Cancun

I just got a great deal at the Sheraton Cancun and I can pick a date anytime in the next 18 months. When is the best time of year to go? Thanks...
Lisa

Depends on what you're looking for. I'd avoid September and October because it seems that's when most hurricanes hit (even though hurrican season is officialy June to November). In the winter months, the water's too cool for my liking. For some the summer months may be way too muggy (but the water's great then). I'd also avoid spring break, which more and more seems to last part of March and April and sometimes into June when you consider high school and college grads.

P.S. The Sheraton's gotten some really crummy reviews lately by former repeat visitors. Have you checked out www.cancunandrivieramaya.com?

I really think the best two months are June or November. Great weather and not huge crowds of people. Been going for 12 years now and almost always try and go those two months. Actually May and early December also is good.

IMO, I would never go to Mexico or the Caribbean in the summer months. First of all, it's too hot for me. Secondly, the weather is usually pretty good in Toronto where I live (and we're gardeners, so we want the time here). Thirdly, there are so many other places I've love to visit and the weather in those places is good only in the summer! I love, however, to go south in February or March. I don't find the water too cold. It's a wonderful break in the winter and I look forward to it every year. But I guess that depends on where you live. I don't really enjoy winter in Toronto! We usually go to Mexico then. I should say I'm not crazy about Cancun, but I have gone to Cozumel and the area south of Cancun several times in late February or March.

Have to agree with my previous posters. I have been during November 3 times and only had 2 overcast days in all 3 trips combined. Have fun. Any place is good there with exceptions to the smaller places. It just depends on how spoiled you want to be. My favorite all around pick was the Moon Palace. Not too pricey, but excellent service.
