When is spring break?
 

What week(s) is spring break for college/high school students so I be sure not to plan my vacation at that time? Does Riviera Maya have a lot of spring breakers like Cancun?

Mid-Feb to end of March, beginning of April.
Cancun has way more than RM.

AVOID Cancun until at least mid-April. It is a nightmare there until then.

What about Mayan Riviera? Can I find some quiet time there?

Yes, you can. As people have said, Cancun is the destination of preference -- by a VERY wide margin -- for your typical spring breakers. Those that do manage to wind up elsewhere in the Riviera Maya often have a puzzled, "this isn't what we saw on MTV" look on their faces. :-)

Hey Katolb90, we just recently have been seeking out the same kind of trip, a warm weather get-away in March WITHOUT the spring breakers. "What week" is definetely different depending on which college etc, and from what we are finding out, Spring Break just isn't for the college kids anymore, many high school students are fortunate enough to go on a spring break trips as well. (I was not of that coveted group, I think my first spring break was when I was 25, ha)
Now 37, my husband and I think we have found a quiet spot in Ixtapa. From my research, seek hotels that are NOT in a hotel circuit. Seems that they stay away from the quiet areas and go for the high rise multi-hotel areas with bars and nightlife. But yes, I would avoid Cancun all together!

Isn't amazing how many people have to plan around spring breakers???
My trip to Puerto Vallarta next week was planned around it. I really wanted to go around mid- March to mid -April but had to avoid it all together.
While i look foward to going next week,
it was not my first choice of dates thats for sure.
