When is Easter "week"?

Hi All,
I know Easter is on Sun the 8th , but is Easter "week" considered the week before, or the week after?
I'm headed to CR the week of April 15th, and I'm just wondering how crowded it's going to be...
Should I make reservations for simple tours (ie: canopy, ATV, etc) before I go??
Thanks!!

It is primarily the week before Easter Sunday, but continues somewhat into the week after.

For the religious, Easter week is the week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, ie, before Easter. But in travel terms, the week after Easter might well be busier. By the 15th, though, that should not be the case any longer, at least associated with Easter.

Oh sorry, yes I was referring to travel patterns, not religious observation.

I disagree a little bit. The high tourist season goes through the end of April, but Holy Week is the monster tourist week where you are also competing with all the Costa Ricans who take vacation. Lodging prices go up dramatically between Palm Sunday and Easter. The week after Easter will still see a lot of visitors, but nothing like the week before.

So just to coinfirm -- I do NOT need to make Canopy Tour/Guided tours ahead of time in places like Arenal/Monteverde?

Thanks!
