What was your most scenic???

What was your most scenic bus tour, hike, horseback ride, bike tour, rafting tour, etc in Costa Rica. I will be visiting San Jose, Arenal, Monteverde, and Manuel Antonio in January and will be taking tours originating from these areas.

Besides a hike in Cabo Matapalo on the Osa, I'd say the horseback ride to Nauyaca Falls near Dominical (can be taken from Manuel Antonio) or the other horse back ride I took in Manuel Antionio to another small waterfall. I can't remember who I took the tour with, but much of it is done walking down a beautiful stream with Blue Morpho Butterflys floating by, and ends with a wonderful lunch at a ranch house.

Hiking the old lava flows at sunset in Arenal (the most scenic by far), and also walking the hanging bridges at Selvatura in Santa Elena (outside Monteverde). I haven't gone yet, but I hear that rafting the Pacuare River is supposed to be one of the most scenic things to do in CR. next time for me!

To me, the most beautiful area in all of Costa Rica is the Pacuare River rafting trip. We have done both the 1 day and 2 day trips several times.
My one and only bus tour in 12 years of traveling down there was actually pretty nice. It was definitely a cattle call but still quite pleasant. Pretty amusing as our bus broke down and while our driver and guide were arranging for it to get fixed, I ended up taking a few people into a little store and helped them to purchase some items. The little shop keeper was quite overwhelmed by all these tourists.
It was one of the Highlight tours and we stopped at Tres Generations coffee plantation for breakfast and then went up to Poas volcano. From there we headed over to the Caribean side. We stopped to look at one of the La Paz waterfalls that you can see from the road. We stopped at a little Mirador for coffee and a snack and enjoyed watching hummingbirds and looking at another waterfall. Stopped at an old burial grounds, had lunch and a rainforest hike at Selva Verde Lodge and then went on a float tour of the Sarapiqui river. There are several variations of this tour depending on who you go with. Some even end up with white water rafting on the Sarapiqui instead of just a float tour.
Just a day trip to the La Paz waterfalls might be nice.
I also agree with Ally on the Cabo Matapalo area of the Osa as being one of the top places. Our trips always end down that way. It is not really an option from the places you will be.

Thanks for your replies. I have a reservation for rafting on the Reventazon with Rios Tropicales. Maybe I should change it to Pacuare. Or do both!

Any more scenic memories?

Any more scenic moments? Only nine more days to go. We have not had much snow yet here in Detroit. I hope Mother Nature is not waiting until the night before my first trip to Costa Rica!
