what to pack

Will be in Costa Rica (MA, La Fortuna & Monteverde) beginning of March. Should I pack any long pants and a jacket? We will be doing a zip line in Monteverde. Thanks.

Maybe pack one light jacket and hiking boots. Pack light though, it saves time and hassle and you can buy anything from sandals and beach wear to bug spray( if you need it) when you are there. The grocery stores have great sandals! You won't believe the freedom of packing light!

Weather can be unpredictable, so be ready for rain showers. Rain jacket/poncho/rain pants are a must. You can get muddy during the zip lines, so dress accordingly. Monteverde can get cool at night, so a sweatshirt may be useful.

I haven't been to Costa Rica but my packing list for other trips to CA is #15 on the FAQ thread here (in case you're interested):

Happy trails!

We found our pocket flashlights came in very handy several times.

It was cool in Montverde. I was fine with shorts, though I layered on the top. Mrs. Fly wore long pants two days.

Light hiking boots worked very well for us--many trails are wet, and we had to go up and down numerous hills, over fallen trees, etc.
