What is the best AI in Mexico for families?

Message: I am trying to plan a family vacation this summer to Mexico. I really think we want an AI resort but I am open to suggestions. An AI is very appealing to me because of the ease of not having to worry about constantly paying for drinks, meals, snacks etc. Which AI resorts are the best for families in terms of pools, staff, shows, food etc? I am not looking to put my children in a kids club. They will stay with us each day but want to make sure the resort, as well as the town, has things for us to do together. Thanks

Seems to me that the Iberostar resorts get the highest marks overall...

Where in Mexico are you interested in?

I shouldn't post before having my coffee! I mean *Any preference* above.

My impression is that Cancun offers the largest number of the type of resort you are describing (A-I with pools, staff, shows, etc.).

Thanks for the replies. There is no preference to where in Mexcio. I am open to any part. I understand it is quite hot in Mexico in the summer but I am a native Houstonian and am very used to 100 degree temps. Does it get a lot worse than that? If so, I might need to reconsider.

The last 3 times I've gone to Mexico have been in August! It's been hot, low 90's, but not bad at all for a beach vacation.

Puerto Vallarta seemed hotter than the "Cancun" side to me in August, very humid, but still fine for the beach.
For a beach vacation, I think you can't beat the Riviera Maya, the "Cancun" side of Mex.
