What are worthwhile tours in Drake Bay? How about Terraba?

We're spending six nights in the Osa Peninsula in February:

2 nights Drake Bay (Finca Maresia)
2 nights Sirena Ranger Station
2 nights Drake Bay (Finca Maresia)

We're already booked The Night Tour (with Tracie the bug lady) for our first night in Drake.

Do people recommend specific activities? We do want to do some birding, but are there birds we'll see in Drake that we won't see while in Corcovado? Also, are the whale/dolphin tours or Cano Island worth doing this time of year?

Is the Terraba mangrove any more interesting than Isla Damas in Manuel Antonio?

Many thanks!

Be sure to make your park reservations early, the park has been full since January 26th. You can make them 30 days in advance.

Sounds like you will be boating into Sirena and then exploring the park from there. There is so much to see inside the park, be sure to get off the beaten trails and into the jungles early in the morning and at dusk, just before dark for the best animal siteings. An afternoon siesta on the front porch of the ranger station is a nice way to enjoy the afternoon.

Enjoy Corcovado, it's an amazing place.

Yes, we will be boating in. We have already been in touch with Sol de Osa about making reservations. We will have a private guide while in the park.

Sounds like you are all set RAC, after I posted, I went back and reread some of our previous communications. Have a fantastic time, and remember, tranquilo and pura vida, no need to plan every minute, allow some time for the adventure to unfold.

Good luck and have fun,
Ballardo

I'm trying to get to Drake Bay again in July and am looking at Finca Maresia so will be interested to hear your thoughts afterwards.
