What are some things we should while in Cancun
on vacation next week?
Are there Casinos? |
No casinos in Cancun. Plenty of nightlife though...
I'd just enjoy the beaches with a cool margarita in hand... A day trip over to Isla Mujeres is always fun, and I like the boat trips out to Isla Contoy (best for the bird watchers) or day trips down to Tulum to walk around the ancient Mayan ruins. Plenty of other diversions though, don't worry... Have fun! Mark www.tiogringo.com |
Go to "Perico's" for dinner. A fun place. In the downtown area. Ask a cab driver, or take a bus. They will know where it is located exactly. Try the horsebackriding on the beach. There is a horse that goes into the water. This is a very unique and different experience. I liked it. Have fun, and just enjoy.

Downtown, go to La Parrilla & La Placita restaurants, also on Avenida Yaxchilan. Also, Sasha's Bistro on Avenida Nader. All great food and atmosphere. Perrico's is good for drinks, but can't top food at the other restaurants. Rancho Loma Bonita is closer to Cancun for horseback riding and it's a nice place--1/2 day tour. Downtown Cancun is a great place to be.

Be sure to take a JungleTour. Many different operators offer them. Basically a two hour jet ski or speedboat ride through the lagoon and the mangrove trees with a 30-45 minute snorkeling break. You can get a discount by purchasing your tour from one of the many promoters found everywhere in Cancun. Expect to pay $25-$30 per person.
If you are young and hip, there are plenty of clubs. Coco Bongo is very entertaining -- it's a cross between a nightclub and a Vegas-style show. Admission including an open bar should run $30 per person. A side trip to the Mayan ruins at Tulum or Chichen Itza would be worthwhile. So too would a daytrip to Cozumel for spectacular scuba diving by bus to Playa and ferry across if you already are certified. Enjoy. |
