Were to stay in Mexico City
Where should my husband and I stay in Mexico City to maximize the ease and speed in seeing historic and archaeological sites?

Centro.

Thanks!

Highly recommend the Hotel Majestic that over looks the Zocalo. Be sure to get a outside room over looking the same.

Roma north is where we stayed and just loved it with all it’s restaurants and quiet streets at night... Love Mexico City , so will you.

Second what stew said.

We stayed at the Gran Hotel Cuidad de Mexico right on the Zocalo square in the Historic District. The hotel itself is an amazing old building with a huge stained glass roof over the lobby. The customer service there is the best I have seen.

We too like to stay in the zocalo area. We have always stayed at Hotel Catedral, which is just off the zocalo. It’s a busy tourist class hotel and not.luxe. But it’s comfortable with good service, a Tour desk, reasonably priced, and has popular breakfast restaurant in front. Also cool rooftop with view of cathedral top.

I stayed in Condesa and enjoyed it. We also stayed a few days near Chapultepec park, on the Paseo de la Reforma at the Hotel Marquis. I am a runner so appreciated being near the park for my morning jogs--very pleasant, although not as neighborhood-y feeling as Condesa.
I would like to stay in Roma too. Zocalo area would feel a little busy to me, but it really comes down to personal preference. There is a lot to do and see in Mexico City. Enjoy your trip! |
We stayed here and thought it was a good location and a nice hotel:
