Weather in Rio/Buzios

I am leaving for a week in Buzios and Rio on Sunday. I am seeing rain in the weatehr forecast. Does this area usually experience heavy rain during its summer or merely frequent, but brief, showers? Thanks!

Hi Mic,

The waether in Southern Brazil on summer time is always hot and sunny with showers on afternoons that last 1 hour and help to refresh. Expect a really hot wheater and bring light clothes.

Buzios is nice. You'll love it!

Mic, this is a perfect time for Buzios and Rio, hot hot hot. If it does rain you will apprecitae it as it will cool you off. I think the rainy season is more like March. I usually go to Rio and Buzios in March and some times perfect weather every day and other times cloudy and rainy. If it rains just go to Rua Das Pedras downtown, hit a bar or go window shopping, you'll have a good time either way.
