Weather in Mexico

We are planning a trip for August and are just beginning to narrow our search. We are considering Mexico, but are a little nervous about weather (we are from Seattle, so our stamina in the humidity comes into question). Are there any places 9on the water) in Mexico that would be better than others weather-wise? Are we just wasting our time?

Thanks

Do mountain Mexico or wait until November on for your trip. Beaches high 90's or more (like Cabo in the 100's)near a 100% humidity & lots of rain is the norm.

Are there places with a consistent breeze on the coast? Or at least places with a better breeze than others?

I know your looking for a solution however if you do the coast it will be hot, humid & a fair chance of rain in august. Now many, many places have A/C & if you can handle the humidity while out go for it. Location is not going to make a huge difference. Check out Zihuatanejo for a great place for a beach vacation. Brisas del Mar, Hotel Solimar & a number of others have a/c for sleeping. Check out hotels at www.Zihuatanejo.net.

On the water is going to be pretty hot and humid anywhere in Mex. If you want to visit some cities in the mountains, i.e. Toluca you might need a sweater. in my experince the beach is pretty hot and humid in August.

We like the Costalegre (between Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta), but not in summer as many places are closed: some until November.
Way too hot and humid for we mountain folks.

Well, we found the wind in Los Cabos to be almost unpleasantly chilling in February, perhaps the location at the tip of Baja would mean winds in August?

Marylin Cabo is in the desert& is very very hot in august. The best time to visit Baja Sur is fall through December & March to May. Other times is too hot or too chilly.

Any coastal place in Mexico is going to be hot and humid in August. It's not so much about location (Baja vs further south) it's about the time of year.

Going up in altitude is the only way you'll find cool weather in summer-time.

Was only commenting on the question about breezes, I would agree that anywhere on the Mexican coast is too hot from about April through the summer

We had a great breeze on the beach all the time in both Playa del Carmen and Akumal July 7-18. Just got back. Didn't even sweat on the beach, BUT it is hot and you do need a/c to sleep at night.
