We will be in Belize for the week of July 23 at Chaa Creek in Cayo and Salamander in Ambergris Caye. Just looked at weather report - rain every day! Does that mean rain all day or just at certain times (like the afternoon). And it is really 70 degrees at night as the Chaa Creek reservation lady advised?

Your question is asked frequently here. First, you are getting the weather in Belize City (or maybe Belmopan) and that's not the same as in San Pedro or San Ignacio. It may rain a little every day you're there, or it might not even rain at all. In any case, barring a tropical storm you'll get plenty of sunshine and nice (hot) weather in both places.

Yes, it will probably be high 60s or low 70s at night at Chaa Creek. If you go into the Mountain Pine Ridge for a day trip it will be a little cooler and less humid.

We just returned, and we also had been very concerned because of weather forecasts predicting daily rain. In fact, it rained briefly only a couple of times, & then the sun came out. Not a problem at all. You do, however, need to be prepared for the extreme heat. We anticipated a drop in the temperature at night, but, in general, it was always really, really hot. Never 70 degrees.

We were at Chaa Creek in June and would have loved some rain! If you've never been to Chaa, I'm quite sure you're going to thoroughly enjoy you stay. Here's a tip for the money minded, book your trips/tours directly through Eva's (San Ignacio). We didn't know about Eva's till we went into town and noticed the tours were at least 25% less than booked directly through Chaa.
