We leave this Saturday

Thank you all so much for all your help.I have a few last minute questions,3 nights in Arenal Kioro, one of those nights dinner and hot springs, any suggestions for the other 2? Should we eat at the hotel or venture out. We are a family of 6 with out a car. I know we will take our Visa cards, how about am ex or master card? Should we exchange some cash at the airport or wait until we get to the hotel? We have reservation for the canopy tour paraiso a good tour I hope, and what do you wear on these tours? Do you bring a bathing suit and chang after dinner at the springs? We are so ready to have some family time!!
2nd part of trip the Four seasons for 5 night. Adult children are hoping for scuba diving, does FS offer this, and how about a catamaran trip for the rest of us? Thank you all!!

May I suggest a more informative title, such as "Need info on CR trip" would be helpful. Better titles get better answers. ((*))

OK - I realize that when posting questions, sometimes we simply are not very creative with our titles.

First - do not try to overplan, pre-plan your trip. I simply would not worry about what to do the other two nights near Arenal. Look at the offerings once you arrive. However, you could consider a night hike, which is actually a late afternoon hike through the forest that emerges at the base of the volcano, just in time to see the night show.

Arenal Parasio ziplines are reportedly good. Can't tell you a thing about this one or any one. Obsessively opposed to canopy tours - something about people screaming through the forest and driving animals away - turns me off. But for the thrill seekers among us, I guess it is a good thrill ride.

Visa and Mastercard, don't bother with your AmEx.

Everyone accepts US dollars and gives change in foreign currency. So no real need to exchange, unless you simply want to.

Look at some pics, most people are just wearing whatever they would wear while hiking on the ziplines.

Contact Kioro and Four Seasons with your other questions. Or I believe I read you are using a travel agent - they should be able to answer the rest.

Sorry, I cannot give you more direct information, however Kioro and Four Seasons are not our type of travel.

Do however, type the hotel name in the search function, and read what others have said specifically to these hotels.

I did the Arenal Paraiso zip lines last week. I never did any other zip line before so I have nothing to compare it to, but I can tell you that I had a lot of fun, as did most everyone else in the group.

I wore capris to get some leg coverage, just in case. People did wear shorts, but it is possible to make contact with parts of trees etc. during a run, so if that worries you, you may opt for more coverage.

In some of the publicity they advertise being able to see animals. I don't know if you do or not, but my feeling is once you're up there for a zip line, you don't care to start looking around for monkeys and birds.

Get some colones from an ATM if you want, but US$ are OK to use everywhere from what I saw.

Have a great trip!
