Doing the math (not my strong point...)

Ok, so how much would that Malbec be in USD?

Obviously the Mexico Peso is cheaper than the Argentina Peso.

And while we're on the subject - trying to work out Uruguay pesos too. The winery where we are going has a menu del dia for 450 pesos, but when I tried to convert that, it came up about $150 USD! See, I told you math was not my strong point.

The MX peso is certainly not "cheaper", you simply buy/get more per USD.
Comparable "stuff" here is more expensive than BsAs and still a bit more than Santiago.
The 3X2 Las Moras Reserva Malbec here is $5.25+ US incl IVA/VAT.
On 23 Oct, the UR peso was worth $0.0424379 or 23.564 UP/USD.
So, your $450. UP winery Comida Corrida would cost maybe $19.10 US - pretty good deal if they open lots of great bottles.
Buen viaje y buen provecho.

Forgot to mention that the 1% Visa currency conversion fee was not charged on the Uruguay peso conversion.
Have no clue as to why.

If my memory has not completely given up, I seem to remember that the Trapicche was $24 pesos - about $7.USD
the Moras was more but probably no more than $10.USD for us. We bought them from the restaurant.
