Hello albertabob;
I will be staying there a later this month as well. My guidebook recommends the top floors highest up the hill for the absolute best views. Another tip from the book is that not all rooms have air-conditioning (in fact, only a few do), so you may want to ask for a room with A/C upon check-in if this is important to you. Enjoy your trip to CR!

It depends on what "type" of room/villa you requested. They have ocean, partial ocean and jungle view villas. If you have reserved an oceanview villa, I recommend 8 (up/down), 3 (up/down) and 1 (up/down). #1 and #3 are close to the pool. Additionally, as previously stated, not all units have A/C so be sure to check that your unit has A/C if you need it. Lisa in Manuel Antonio

Hello Albert, We stayed at Hotel Villas Nicolas in May and stayed in one of the ocean view,higher rooms ,which was absolutely fabulous.We watched monkeys playing in the trees outside our room and we had a magnificent,huge veranda, where we could watch the sun setting over the small island in the centre of our view,enjoying a cocktail. There is a small fridge in the room which we found handy and THE best restaurant in Manuel Antonio--ristorante Carolas where besides fantastic lobster they do a mean coconut marguerita. Good luck and have fun. Pura vida Garthc

Is this hotel kid friendly? I have a 13 year old and am looking for a hotel in MA, love the idea of watching monkeys from the veranda, do they have transportation to beach or are you on your own? If so how much is a cab?

Cabs are inexpensive , local buses pass every 15 minutes and are a breeze to use , it would be a great spot with your child . Also look at Costa Verde .

We stayed in 1 Down. (We loved the room and the porch!!) We had a decent view of the ocean (partially obstructed by trees), but it was too close to the hotel next door (Si Como No). I'd go for 3 Up or Down if you can get it. It seemed like a perfect spot!
