Valentin Imperial Maya

Booked Valentin Imperial Maya for end of March. Looking for recommendations on rooms-worth the money to upgrade? Any building better than others? What is the beach like? I've read many different opinions about the beach... Anything to do in Playa Secreto? Any tips would be appreciated!

I just came back last week & really enjoyed the Valentin. We were on the third floor in building 6 & thought it was in a great location-close to the beach & pool. I really didn't think any of the units were in a poor location with the way the property is set up. I was impressed with their beach, was much larger than others I've seen there. Some resorts cover the entire beach with lounge chairs forcing you to basically climb over people to get to the water but this was not the case here. They had plenty of lounges but left a lot of open space between the water & chairs. It was also nice & quiet...no jet ski's whizzing by. The staff was wonderful & the food was fine. I'm not one for resorts-I prefer ecolodges & being close to nature but I really liked this hotel & would definitely go back. Enjoy!

You will love the Valentin! It's a beautiful resort and the rooms are lovely! I would upgrade from a garden view room but any other room has a great view. The beach is really lovely here! They have catamarans and kayaks you can take out into the ocean and a specific area for swimming. The waves are pretty decent too! There isn't really anything to do in Playa Secreto, but you can go to Playa del Carmen which is just less than 10 minutes away to find everything.
Enjoy!
