Ushuaia vs Calafate vs Mendoza

Will be in BA late May/early June for 2 weeks and doing a side trip to the Falls, and now need to decide the other side trip to one of the 3 above. Love wine tasting but have been to NAPA and the Niagara region. So is there anything to do besides wine tasting in Mendoza?
Want to do the Antartica/glacier thing, but no time this trip. Is Ushuaia and the glacier by it not as impreesive as compare to the one by Calafate? How cold is it in Calafate/Ushuaia in late May? Besides the flaciers, any other things to do in either Pantagonia city? Any advise appreciated.

My wife and I will be going to both Mendoza and El Calafate on our upcoming trip. Mendoza has great hiking, whit-water rafting and horseback riding. I heard Glaciers are much better in El Clafate, but not much else to do. We will let you know.

HI:

I'ved been in Mendoza before, and just came back from ushuaia and El calafate. Ushuaia has more things to do, an is less expensive than "El calafate".

El calafate is a 3 day trip, most part is the perito moreno,el parque nacional but as city is really too small, just a main street, with good restaurants and stores. One of those good restaurant's is EL LECHUZON...

Ushuaia, has more things to do; a good 4 day trip. One in the glaciers, one lago escondido and canal beagle, one to the pinguins, one to visit the historic city.. In the heart of the city the touris office is a great help, has all the information you need.

Mendoza: wine, horses, skiing, but a totally different scene from the other two places your are thinking of visiting.

If you need more feedback, just drop me a line.

Just got back from Los Glaciers National Park near El Calafate. The glaciers are spectacular. You need at least two full days there to to trek the Glaciers. Stay at Los Nostres if you have the chance..its well worth the money and it will save you alot of time staying in the park.

What is the weather like in Ushuaia during late April early May

If you haven't visited another glaciar yet, by all means, CALAFATE. It is breathtaking, spectacular, fabulous, etc... cannot find words to describe it. Ushuaia, yeah, it is nice, very nice in fact, but... not THAT special.

I would rank Calafate with the Iguazu Falls (seen from the Brazilian sidem which is by far the most impressive) and Machu Picchu.

@ matt2009

We were in Ushuaia in the first days of December (summer) and had to have the heating system on. So....
