Ushuaia hotel help needed
I am only planning to spend one night in Ushuaia, prior to departing on my Antartica trip. The tour company is using Hotel Ushuaia (a 3 star booking at $128).
My TA in Argentina can get me the Hotel Ushuaia for $80, but for the price range is recommending another hotel, Rosa de los Vientos ($75). Does anyone know either of these hotels, or can you recommend another? She advised that the Hotel Ushuaia is not as close to town and is up a hill - although the reviews I have read are positive and I assume other people on my boat will be there (it also seems to be a pretty big hotel). The other hotel is all of 4 rooms and seems a little bit closer to town, but not much. Any thoughts? |
I will be in Ushuaia in about 2 weeks and need to make my hotel arrangements. Could you give me name of your TA? Also, did you already stay in the hotel? I'm looking for a centrally located hotel.
Thanks Susan |
I will be in Ushuaia Jan 13 for 4 nights and will be staying at the Albatros Hotel which is right on the water. I booked our hotel via email (VERY time consuming!) but they gave me the name of a travel agency recommended by the hotel for tours, etc.
This is the email of the agent I dealt with. Her name is Paula. She may be able to help you, Susan. [email protected] |
We will be in Ushuaia for one night in February. Both the Albatross and the Canal Beagle were recommended, the Albatross a bit more highly, but it's full the night we are there (we were told it's a modern hotel right downtown with fairly large, comfortable rooms -- we were qouted $155 per night for a double. The Canal Beagle (we are paying $105 for a double room for one night which, we were told were simple, but clean and comfortable) is also right downtown in a great location with a restaurant that overlooks the port.

see Cabañas del Beagle.
a different way to enjoy nature and peace. "something incredible and unique" according to the people who stayed there. have never been there, though i have recommended it to many people. all of them best references about the place. not cheap though |
