Upscale Mexican resort

I know very little about the west coast of Mexican but I am interested in finding a very upscale resort in any area along the coast. Any good recommendations? Also, is the end of October or beginning of November OK weatherwise?

La Casa Que Canta in Zihuatenenjo, or Villa del Sol

Punta Mita outside of Puerto Vallarta

just to name 2 -- there are so many fantastic looking resorts on the west coast!

Weather should be good...

Those all are excellent suggestions although I think Villa del Sol is a step down from the others.

Two more:
The Tamarindo between PV and Manzanillo
Las Alamandas also between PV and Manzanillo

El Careyes, 1 1/2 hours north of manzanillo. Definiately El Tamarindo. Grand Bay for the big elegant hotel atmosphere, Casa Del Mar in Cabo. The weather time frame is wehn we go & it is great. Now I'm just trying to find a flight!

JW Marriott at the Marina in PV. We stayed there in Feb. and it has everything. It's a 20 minute (4 peso, 36 cents) ride to town.

The most upscale resort on the pacific coast is Careyes, very jet set, $10million villas. To get the Careyes experience though stay at one of the villas or casitas.

There is a great book that might help you. It is called Mexicasa, the enchanting Inns and Haciendas of Mexico. It is a large paperback book which has pictures and description of small very nice boutique style hotels. I love looking through it. We haven't gone to any of the resorts but there are many that I'd like to see.
