Unusual Request! Bringing a dog back from Costa Rica

Hi - This is an unusual request.

I am looking for someone who might be flying to west coast usa or Canada in the next few weeks.

If you are an animal lover - read on! I need help in bringing Callie, a beautiful dog that we rescued, to us and am willing to pay a small fee- there will be a dog crate and all papers needed

This beautiful dog is roughly a 28 pound dalmation/terrier X

In her short year and a half she has been through a great deal and if she could talk she could tell you stories -

We found her weak and half starved to death on a beach in Tamarindo, We fed and nourished her and the love quickly grew.........

Callie is one very smart and gentle dog who once walked 50 miles to return to a home that no longer existed. She deserves a forever home and it is my intention to bring her to Vancouver and find one.

We are sponsoring her in a shelter near San Jose and already have a couple of potential homes lined up for her.

The problem is that there are no direct flights from San Jose to Seattle or Vancouver and I don't trust the airlines to transfer her.

You can read her story and also become a Callie Fan by searching

"Bring Callie Home" on Facebook

Please email if you have flight plans in the next 2 months.

We brought back a dog from Costa Rica that was starving to death too and the love he's shown us is incredible! Good luck and God Bless you! Animals really need help there. I've seen some horrible treatment of animals and it's amazing what helping an animal does to spread acts of kindness. I can tell you that Air Canada did an incredible job. The guy in charge of shipping animals in San Jose was extremely helpful. We were able to get a direct flight, however. Thank you for your act of incredible kindness and love! And all the best with Callie and both of your travels!

eaglespirit77 -- I'm not sure how much I can help, but I will be flying AA from San Jose to Seattle via Dallas on July 13th...Let me know if you'd like to touch bases via e-mail.

Here's a forum for Costa Rica expats:

I would post your request there too. And don't forget TripAdvisor.

Good luck!!!

How admirable! Callie sounds like a great gal; good for you for caring.

Hi surfexec--good to "hear" from you! How are things going? I had no idea you'd brought an animal home from CR. Was it pre or post marriage?
