Unregistered Guests at the Westin Los Cabos

How strict is the Westin on allowing unregistered guests at their hotel (i.e., pool area, beach, etc.) We are staying there and have friends who want to visit.
Thanks.

Do your friend walk upright?

Do they have hairy backs?

If not, I am supposing they will pass muster. As far as I know, the Westin people have no reason to be churlish.

Why not just ask?

All beaches in Mexico are regarded as public.

The reason I am asking is that I was told some hotels in Mexico make registered guests wear wristbands or show their room key to get in the pool area due to the fact that some people say only 2 people are staying in their hotel room and they really have 10.

I have found the wristbands to be mainly at all inclusives--which I never use. I don't believe you would have any problem at the beach, bars, restaurants ,etc.--the pool might be a problem, but I doubt it.

I don't have specific answer for the Westin at Cabo... but I've never heard of a bracelet system except at All-Inclusives. Yes, beaches in Mexico are technically public but that doesn't mean you get to sit for free on chairs or under palapas that belong to a restaurant/bar/hotel.

That said, I've often visited other hotels and used their pools but I ask first when I arrive, buy drinks and food, and tip the staff.
