type of hiking shoes for MP
 
Hiking the Lares Trek to MP at the beginning of July. I have Merrell hiking boots/shoes, but they are not high top. Are high top hiking boots necessary? I have no issues with my knees or any other joints.

Just got back from a 3-day Inca Trail hike last week. My husband and I both wore regular (low-top) hiking shoes (North Face brand) and were very comfortable.
