Thanks, everyone, for your posts! We will be staying at Valentin Imperial Maya in Playa. I want to do a Coba-only visit (not including a Mayan village stop) for half a day. I do not want to go swimming in a cenote, either. From the very helpful posts, it sounds like the best way to go is to hire a cab from the resort to Coba. Has anyone done this? How much did you pay/haggle?

You might call your hotel in advance (or email)and ask them about taxi fare or driver suggestions; they do this all the time!

I was just at Tulum a few weeks ago and you were not allowed to climb anything. Far differnt than the ruins in Belize. You could climb to the top of that one!
