Trip to MEXICO
 

Hello, I am trying to plan my honeymoon for mid July. Our parents have a Hilton package where it includes the Hotel. The places are Cancun, Acapulco Guerrero, Cabo San Lucas, Zihuatanejo, or Chetumal. Just by looking at the pictures provided by hilton Cancun looks the best in my opinion. Basically what I'm asking is, what are the pros and cons of each of these places. What are some things to do. Are ages will be 24-22 at the time, we just want to relax and maybe go siteseeing? Depending on what is around the area. I mean, just staying on the beach is fine as well. But I'm not too familiar with mexico.

I'd go with either Cabo San Lucas or Zihuat myself because you'll get more a feel for actually being in Mexico (which may or may not matter to you for your honeymoon).

Cancun is OK if you don't mind it being 100% touristy and more like Florida than Mexico. There are some good ruins you can get to on the Yucatan.

Why not? Mexican beaches are great in July. It's a fantastic time to be there. Plus because it's considered off-season you can get considerably lower hotel rates.

July is off-season? I think we have narrowed it down to Cabo San Lucas and Cancun. It's the Fiesta Americana Villas that we are looking into.

Yes (the summer is considered off-season for tourists). "High-season" is in the winter, like the months between Christmas to Easter.

Sorry about that. My understanding was that beach places in Mexico - both sides - are unbearably hot and humid in mid-summer. No?

Well I guess it depends what you mean by "unbearably".

Certainly it is more hot and humid in the summertime than the wintertime, that's true. I'd definitely want a room with air-conditioning. But to me definitely not anywhere close to unbearable, especially since I'm either at the beach or in the pool most of the time!

To me it's worth it because the hotel and apartment rates can be half-priced in many instances. And towns are less crowded with gringo tourists and filled more with Mexican nationals on vacation.

Also there's a bit more chance of rain, since July is getting into the rainy season.
