Hello,
I've been to both and both are totally unforgettable.
Also both are very romantic!
Just depends on what kind of relaxation you're hoping for.
Do you speak French or Spanish?
Another variable to consider is how long you have for your trip and what time of year you're going...?

That is so funny, because I am going to CR to celebrate my 50th birthday in April and the choice was between Paris and CR. I finally decided on CR because my husband's best friend (who is a nightmare to travel with) is deathly afraid of snakes and I have assured him that the place is overrun with reptiles and that we will have no electricity, AC, screens etc... needless to say, he is not going! Also, Paris is so expensive now that I thought I could wait another year or two and see if the dollar improves. You are lucky to have such a wonderful decision to make.

Been to both but can't even compare the two of them. They are so different in so many ways.
If you are looking for museums, architecture and old world charm Paris is your pick...
If your looking for nature, animals and adventure... go to Costa Rica!
Both are amazing. One big difference would be in Paris you will probably stay in Paris your entire trip... if you head to Costa Rica you maybe traveling within a few different towns.
To answer your question... Yes, Costa Rica was unforgetable.
If I had to pick... Im not sure which one I would go with. At this very monent I would probably say CR because some warm weather sounds pretty nice about now!
Good Luck with your decision.

Having been to both, I would go to Paris. Yes, it is more expensive, but it is truly one of the best cities in the world. There is so much to do. Museums, parks, restaurants, etc. CR is a lovely place for a nature oriented vacation. But if you haven't traveled much, Paris shouldn't be missed. I've been to Paris 12 times, CR once.

Been to both in the past year and absolutely loved both. It all depends on what you want-- a walk downt the champs de ellyse or walk down a sandy beach-- beautiful buildings and art or natural beauty and animals. I told my wife from now on-- we are going where we can get the best value (currency considerations) because we want to see the whole wide world! On that basis and for the weather i would go to CR, but Paris is the city of light and never to be forgotten. If you do Paris don't mis mount mar-- the artist hill. Enjoy

I have been to both as well , 2 completely types of vacation , in terms of everything . I think you have to narrow it down a bit yourself in terms of what u really want to get out of your trip . I am sooo glad to have been to Paris .... I would someday love to return. But after having been , I do not have an intense desire to return . I do have that with Costa Rica . But I live in Canada , and getting away to someplace warm is a BIG deal !!!! Faith

Well, if money is at all an issue, we will more than likely spend more than twice as much in Paris. I think I would go for CR also, if given the choice (and I've been to Paris 4 times!) because I love warm weather when ours is not so hot, and I love swimming and snorkeling more than anything else, and I love adventures in nature more than exploring a city and its history (but Paris is the place to go for that and you'll certainly walk your rearend off while there), and I'm also a more casual, camping, hiking type person. Whatever you decide, you really can't go wrong.

I have been to Paris once. I´m glad I went but I´m more of a relaxed beach person.I agree with everyone else here that it depends on what you like.I think romance depends on who your with.I find Costa Rica very romantic. The hot weather, sexy people (especially in the Mal Pais Area, must be something in the water)the beach, fresh tropical drinks, fresh seafood, etc.My vote is for Costa Rica!

Although Paris is not my favorite city in Europe it does seem to offer the most in regards to museums, art, churches etc etc. Do try to get out into the countryside if you go, it is beautiful. I have recently discovered Georges Redon. Would love to go back to Paris just for some of his prints and menus.
Costa Rica offer the most in wildlife and wonderfully friendly people. It is much more casual and more relaxing than the larger cities of Europe. Beautiful beaches? There are some nice ones but it isn't really known for them. I think that you will find that most of us on this board would recommend CR and consider it highly unforgetable.
