What kind of camera and lens did you use?

Janeicole, thanks so much!
Milliebz, most of the photos were taken with a Rebel xt and a 28-105 canon lens. I'm worried the camera may be on its last legs after the incident on the trip, and I'm currently fantasizing about buying the Rebel T2i (before our next trip to India!). If your thinking about buying a SLR camera, my advise is to buy as little body as you can, and spend the money you saved on getting a better lens. I've posted about that on the blog too if you want to check it out.

What slr's (brands) typically have smaller bodies? I'm in the research mode as well.

Nikon and Canon both have really good models. I'd stick to one brand if you have anything from them already. If you don't need a video camra, the T1i (or the model before that) likely has all that you would need and can save you some $$.

P.S. If anyone has any thoughts on which parts of the country we should visit next time, I'd love to hear them! We're already thinking about our next trip...

Sorry I missed your blog when I was planning my trip, especially the food tips.

I'd look into the Talamancas (ie San Gerardo de Dota or Copey de Dota which I couldn't reach due to floods), and the area between Hacienda Baru just north of Domincal, south to Ojochal/Uvita (lots of villa rentals and reportedly some good restaurants in Ojochal, as well as Soda La Macha).

Love your blog!! Try Tortuguero and Caribbean Coast. We also would like to spend more time, next time in the Sarapiqui area.

Thank you--off to do some searching with these names. Thanks for all of your sweet comments, Michelle! I really appreciate it!

Agree with Michelle, but Osa is still my favorite and Dominical/Uvita are great as well as Montezuma. So many great and diverse areas to choose from!
