i think in Centarl America you should go Costa rica, The physical features of Costa Rica and it's natural geography are nothing short of spectacular.

When I want to hang out at the beach I usually head to Puerto Vallarta. Great place.

wouldn't that be the rainy season in Costa Rica?

Costa Rica on the Caribbean side is BEAUTIFUL in October. But, yes, you're correct that many other areas of CR are in it's rainiest time. Puerto Viejo is a very much less touristed area too (no big hotels or shopping venues) but great food, beaches, people and nightlife...along with the magic of the rainforest and wildlife.
