Shillmac, Like so many others, I've planned our first trip to CR from all the amazing information on this board. After thinking about where we want to go for an eternity, we'll finally be in Tamarindo June 24th for 4 nights, than we've rented Casa Blanca at Bosque del Cabo for a week from June 28 to July 5. If you are there also during that time, I hope you'll stop by our porch for something cold to drink! Katie

Somehow I overlooked your earlier post. Yes, we are going to San Vito, and I am glad to hear you like the area! We are just hoping to see another little part of Costa Rica. I know this is great agricultural territory (pineapples, etc, right?), and of course Wilson Botanical. We'll only be there 2 nights. Do you have a hotel to recommend for us? We are arriving with no reservations and sure could use some help. Suzie2 gave me suggestions on an earlier (much earlier) post which I cannot seem to locate. Any other thoughts? What do you know about transferring from San Vito to Golfito and on to Puerto Jiminez and Bosque del Cabo? I am assuming that since we are traveling by public bus we can make some of these arrangements as we go; however, the 2 nights in San Vito are the only nights we don't have reserved. Any reason to be nervous about that?

What fun! Yes, we will be at Bosque del Cabo for 3 nights. . .July 2, 3, and 4. Are you bringing fireworks :) I'll try to remember Casa Blanca (I need to already be working on a journal to keep up with this trip). We are meeting another couple at Savegre Hotel (also from Fodor's) as I guess you have read on this thread that, as Ray has said, is now WAY off the subject! Don't you just love how these things evolve? Or dissolve. . .whatever the case may be. . :)

We'll also be nearby in June. We are staying at Flamingo Beach Resort June 21-24 (and perhaps another day). Not sure what our plans for the weekend will be. Might even venture down to Tamarindo, although chances are we'll go somewhere else. We are not booked anywhere between June 25 and June 28. Heading back toward SJO on the 28th to take a bus down to Savegre early on the 29th. Where are you staying in Tam?

Hi Shillmac! We'll have a bungalow at Capitan Suizo, which I've thought would be nice for us ever since Iza wrote about her 1st or 2nd visit (way back when!) Our kids are 10 and 12 and would love to learn to surf, so I was trying to find a good spot for beginning surf lessons. They're hoping to try surfing from Bosque as well ... I'm not sure yet what the possibilities will be on the Osa -- on top of all that incredible hiking! Sounds like dinners are a great time for meeting all the other guests so we'll look for you after July 2nd!

Golondrina, as stated earlier, I digress (sp?). . .early 50's (but you'd never know it ;) ), both wear glasses, I'll answer to shillmac! We'll be lookin' too! What a wonderful time your children are going to have!
