Trave to Costa Rica

Hello All,

I just joined Fodors today! I am traveling to Costa on May 6th and was wondering if anyone could tell me about the weather during this time and recommend the best beach to visit as well as shopping and suggestions as far as tours. Any information is much appreciated.

Thanks.

For weather -- http://www.imn.ac.cr/IMN/MainAdmin.a...coTiempoCiudad

This is the Costa Rican weather bureau.

Without knowing anything about how long you will be here, what experience you are looking for, etc etc etc, it is impossible to recommend any of the 100+ beaches in Costa Rica, much less the "best" beach which is a different thing for different people.

I would suggest you start with a good guide book or look here: www.visitcostarica.com I find that your questions are just too open-ended for me to answer in any way that would be helpful.

Manuel Antonio is a good choice, swimmable at times. Watch out for monkeys stealing stuff from bags inside the national park. Note that it costs $10 to enter the park for the day, you can also go to the adjacent public beach but it can be rougher.
