Transportation
Hello!
I'm going to be backpacking between CR to Nicaragua and then on to Belize. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on safe and economical transportation between CR and Belize. Any advice or stories are appreciated. Thank you!! ( : |
Many backpackers use buses because it's a cheap way to travel.
To increase your chances of staying safe, avoid overnight buses. If there's a choice of bus companies, find out the most reputable one. Here's a website with some bus information for Belize... http://belizebus.wordpress.com/ |
Hopefully more experts will chime in, but I'm pretty sure bus is your only option?

We flew from Managua to Belize City, via San Salvador, a couple of months ago. I think it was about US$350.00 a ticket.

Thank you for the tips! I was planning on using the bus system to keep my budget low.
I did look into flying, I just couldn't justify paying $350 a ticket when my flight from Chicago to CR will only be $160. However, if safety is a large concern I will definitely fly. (: Thanks again! |
Buses are best and convenient option between CR to Nicaragua. It is the cheapest option which you can used.

Within CR, there's a shuttle service called Interbus if you want to look into it.
