Tour and Activity Suggestions for Tamarindo?

Aren't I a pest? LOL
I haven't spent a lot of time looking into what we'll do in Tamarindo since we've got two weeks. All I know is I want to do as much snorkling as possible (thinking of renting a taxi to go up to Papagayo or something like that for a day), try surfing, try this canoe/snorkle/hike trip that Guanacaste Outriggers advertise, and maybe go to Rincon de la Viejo.
I'd love to see the turtles laying their eggs, but I think we're too late for the tours at Baulas park. :(

There seems to be a bunch of tour companies as usual. Do any of you have suggestions for good tours/tour companies or experiences you would recommend? I would really appreciate it. THANKS!

It has been a few years since we were in Tamarindo but we found the turtle tours sold out. This was mostly because if you saw no turtles the night you went you could just go the next night. There was a family there who had been 3 nights and not seen a turtle. We went scuba diving instead and two GIANT turtles surfaced by our boat and kept bumping it. We took pictures to our heart's delight and never told the poor family at the resort about our luck. We also went on a horseback ride where we raced them on the beach. Fun stuff enjoy!

My family loved Tamarindo in 2005. Son - 18 yrs. old, daughter - 21 yrs. old and parents 50 (then!!). We snorkled with Margie - www.mandingosail.com. It was a great experience. Great fish, great weather -the boat took us to Conchal. Love, loved it. www.jandctours.com for the volcano tour. Loved J - Juan. C is Carol from USA. I like to know who I am traveling with. I loved CR. My dream vacation is to go back - to OSA - but the whole country and their citizens are awesome. Pura Vida

You might enjoy the Palo Verde daytrip.

Also, we enjoyed driving over toward Santa Cruz to the little pottery making community of Guayitil. Lovely pieces, and they'll pack it for travel.
