Toledo? and the silver mines...

Hi - we are travelling to Nuevo Vallarta the middle of January with a timeshare. We are planning on spending an extra few days and travelling around the countyside a bit, maybe even leaving the timeshare early. My boyfriend just finished reading Michner's Mexico and is psyched about going to Toledo however when I google it, I get info about a place on the Yucatan Oenn. In Michner;s book, it looks to be just east of Guadalajara. Anyone have any info or some suggestions for interesting things to see around that region....a little off the beaten path? Thanks.

Hey ~~ I googled and got this:

"The town, by the way, is called Toledo but is really Guanajuato."

Y'all have fun!

If you are interested in mines, take a look at Zacatecas. They have a good mine tour.
