Todos Santos and/or Loreto

My partner and I are planning a trip to Mexico this summer and, after a lot of research, have narrowed down to these 2 regions. Anyone been to either recently? Comparisons of the two? Where to stay? What to do? Safety issues? Thank you so much.

I was in Todos Santos a year ago, and really enjoyed it. The town is quaint and authentic. The beach is awesome for surfing, and kayaking. You can even visit the real "Hotel California." We actually stayed outside of town, but I saw many nice little hotels there-sorry I can't be more helpful. As far as safety goes, I felt very safe there. I hope you have a wonderful trip wherever you decide!
