Three weeks in Samara

We are going to Costa Rica next November. I heard that Samara was beautiful but somewhat isolated. Would we have enough things to do around Samara to keep us busy for three weeks? (restaurants, bars, etc.)We will of course venture out but I am a little concerned about the costs of the tours from Samara. The resort is the Villas Playa Samara.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Oh my..3 weeks? Samara is a beautiful little spot on the coast, but yes, I think you'll get EXTREMELY bored after ONE week. Unless you want to fish everyday...
Can't you split some of that time and go north to Nosara or Tamarindo?
I think you'd enjoy the change of scenery...
We spent 2 weeks at VPS about 5 years ago, and unless a lot has happened since then, there isn't much to do. We took one tour, and the rest of the time we walked from VPS to the little town of Samara along the beach every day for something to do. It is peaceful, quiet and has a lovely beach and gorgeous sunsets. At that time there was only 1 restaurant @ VPS, but in our walks we found some places along the beach, and in town a couple of little places to eat. We would buy our bread, fruit and some other snacks in town. The houses are lovely in VPS, although there are some that do not have beach views, and some are duplexes. The only a/c our duplex had was in the bedroom. We were there in March and could have used a/c then! Enjoy.

I appreciate the information. Thank you. Yes, we can split up the time between three other resorts. There is a resort near Hermosa called Costa Blanca del Pacifico, the Flamingo Marina Resort and a resort called the Hotel Oasis/La Reserva in Tamarindo that we can also choose from.

We're having a hard time deciding because this is our first time to Costa Rica. Are any of these resorts worth spending three weeks at? Any recommendations for splitting up the three weeks between any of these locations?

Sorry I can't help with these particular resorts. My husband and I always stay at smaller independent places.
But, having been to Costa Rica 7 times and that region 5 of those times, I'd stay at Playa Samara no more than a week, then go to one of the others. Just from what I can tell on these properties, I'd say Flamingo Marina Resort looks nice and it's closer to the town of Tamarindo than Costa Blanca, which although might be lovely, is also a little isolated from town. I think after Samara, you'll be looking for activities that Flamingo has to offer. Or go there first and wear yourself out with excursions, then go to Samara for a week of peace and quiet! I can't find anything on Hotel Oasis, so that would be my last choice. Anywhere you go in CR will be beautiful so I'm sure you'll enjoy yourselves! Best wishes!
