Three Days in Buenos Aires
How should a first-time visitor to Buenos Aires spend three full days? Thoughts. Suggestions.
Thank you. |
This should get you started. This is the same source as I linked to this question on Trip Advisor.

If I had only three days in Buenos Aires, I wouldnīt go to La Boca (as suggested in the link above). I would spend more time in the Puerto Madero area, Recoleta, Libertador Ave., maybe a little shopping. If you donīt have little children, skip the zoo also. You can go to the Japanese Garden instead.

I, too, find La Boca disappointing. But most first time visitors think they must go there since the brightly colored houses of El Caminito are in all the travel brochures. The Japanese Garden is a great idea....

I personally find Puerto madero about as disappointing as La Boca.
Much of this also depends on when you plan to go, and the kind of weather you luck into. I can assure you from personal experience that being outside at places like Plaza Dorrego San Telmo Market or Feria de mataderos when its pouring rain is no fun at all. raquel |
My favorite things about Buenos Aires were the Recoleta Cemetary, San Telmo and its weekend market, strolling and shopping on Calle Florida, and eating my way around the city like Ms. Pacman. :D The food there is absolutely fabulous...the best I've ever had in ANY country. Oh...chalk me up as another who was underwhelmed by La Boca. |
