Jessie, wow, if it could take as long as an hour to drive from Orquideas to El Pueblo in downtown San Jose, then that helps me make up my mind. We'll stay in San Jose our first 2 nights, and then on our last night, at the end of our trip, we'll stay at Orquideas and then fly home the next morning. Shillmac, thanks for the info as well.
Thanks for the info and that helps me with choosing hotels. |
shillmac:
Cold is not the word for temperature here right now.!!! I keep thinking to myself, was I really in Costa Rica 3 weeks ago in 90F weather !!! Jessie: Yes,I guess we are lucky to be able to go to Cuba. if you are thinking of a white silver sand beach, with torquise warm water and being about to walk almost a block into ther ocean before the water reaches your shoulder level..... then Varadero Cuba is the beach! I have learned so much from you and shillmac that I am only happy to add the little that I have to offer. I did put up my Turtle Egg Laying Tour and the Nicaragua Tour, but not the Monteverde, or the Palo Verde or the Rincon de la Viejo, because these were done well by others. I did tour all the beaches along Papagayo from Tamarindo to Naranjo beach where the Witches Rock is , but I will just answer questions on these if they should arise. Once again I am sure that I speak for many on this board when I say Thank You for all that you and shillmac do. Percy |
Percy, you are a generous and kind man and all of us have benefited from your posts more than you probably realize! Still hoping for that big Fodorite party at Neta's place! :)
And someday I do plan to meet Oscar. . . Also, I've heard from a friend recently that Roberto is no longer at Fiesta. Haven't heard from him, so don't know what is up with that. These entertainment and activity staff people are always moving from place to place, it seems! If I hear from him, I'll let you know! |
Thanks shillmacfor the info on Roberto.
I did not know Roberto moved from Fiesta Premier. He was such a lovley fellow as you well know. Yes they do move around, either the resort or the tour companies alter their plans. I just got an e-mail from a Tour Guide friend of mine in Acapulco, he was in Cancun and then back to Acapulco. One of the tour companies were not busy,so they let him go and now he is with another tour in Acapulco. As you know I am going to Huatulco( Wha- tool- ko ) Mexico on January 27th for 8 days and since Huatulco is about 300 miles right below Acapulco, I will sure try to see him (Celso). I wonder if Roberto went back to Nicaragua for a while over the holidays...or maybe to the other Fiesta at Puntarenas...keep me posted if you find out. Boy does a party at Neta's sound terrific. Percy, we should surprise her! :)
Have a great time in Huatulco! Warm weather and sunny days--man, does that ever sound good right about now! Although, here in the OK state, it was a gorgeous day! I'll remember it Wednesday when we're down to 25F again--and I have a little commitment to do some work outside with my youth group! |
