Teotihuacan

OK, one more Mexico City question...

I'll be there in April with my 8-year-old kid and we are both very excited to visit Teotihuacan. What do you think is the best way to do this with a child in tow? Organized tour? And, if so, what is a good tour for the likes of us? Or take the public bus and do it ourselves? Thanks very much.

There are organized bus tours , they take 8 hours ( more or less all )
Some people take the Metro and then the bus, but I am not sure that is the best way with
a small child especially if you don’t speak Spanish. I do, but still wouldn’t take the hugely croweded
metro.
I asked at the hotel and got a private driver for 80-90 dollars ..took about 4 hours...one each way and two hours at the site...(was enough for me )

This is a useful link for taking a bus. And of course, you can take a cab or Uber to Norte instead of the Metro.

Be sure to make time to eat at La Gruta:

Did you hire a guide at the ruins? If so, what is the cost? I am with you, a couple of hours is plenty!

I didn’t hire a guide.
The driver stoped at one part of the site..., waited for me and ,after I looked around for a while ,drove me to the
further site ( 2 k ? ). I did not attempt to climb the pyramids..just wanted to get the big picture .
It is amazing and mysterious.
Wear a hat!

That's almost funny. Thanks.
