Tela and La Ceiba
 

I'm still working on this trip. Can anyone tell me great things to do in Tela or La Ceiba. Did you always have a guide, or did you do some things on your own? Did anyone stay at Maya Vista in Tela? Thanks heaps.

I didn't love La Ceiba itself but loved Omega Lodge and their hiking, rafting, and horse back tours.

One of the best things to do in Tela is take a boat tour around the Punta Izopo Wildlife Refuge! This tour will take you through river mangroves and the rocky point of Punta Izopo. The Punta Izopo Resort located right next to the wildlife reserve is the best place to go and ask for a boat tour. They also have horse back riding on the beach and through Punta Izopo wildlife refuge. There website is www.puntaizoporesort.com
