TC: I wonder if you could indulge me with another question? The day we are to be on Cozumel (8AM to 5PM) is Saturday, December 12. As it turns out this is a holiday - Our Lady of Guadalupe. I can find no information on how that will affect our visit. Do you have any recommendations or helpful info about it?

Doug; emails on the way. No info on Akumal, just Cozumel. I've never been to Akumal so you'll need to be the resident expert on that one.

Hi helpful fodor friends. I have been in contact with Melia-the rep I found has been very good at responding back. I am getting a lower AI fee & upgrading to a 2 bedroom. Waiting to hear from her re; how to payin advance. I guess there is an ironman triathalon gong on that first weekend so should be busy. In that case I just assun stay put at my resort.
Next time I'll hold out for Coral Princess with RCI-we'll go have happy hour with them for sure. If there are any fodorites in Cozumel Nov 28-Dec 5th would love to share a drink & talk of travel-my favorite passon. From there we will ferry to Playa Del Carmen-stay at the Mayan (|Our resort) The 3rd week will be in Cancun at Imperial Fiesta Club (|Also our resort)
Last week we were in Portugal for a month on the go go go. This year its just sit & drink etc.
Next year a month in Egypt & Jordan so will be on go there also.

Nancdb and Lazarallen. I'm sorry, I don't have any info on Playa. In our nearly 18 years of going to CZM, I've never once taken the ferry across to Playa. Hope what I do have helps with your holiday. I'm headed back to the island in a couple of days. Hopefully I'll find all my old favorite places still in business and discover a few new ones to share. If you're on the island in March, let me know.
