Taxis for a day Playa del Carmen?

Can a taxi be rented for a day? For example to go from PDC to Tulum then Coba and return? If so what is the going rate?

Thanks

Hi
We rented a taxi for the day from PDC to Tulum for around 45-50 usd.

The rate the other poster gave you sounds right to me.
We rented one from Cancun to PDC to Akumal and the Tulum area, and spent 5 or 6 hours, and it was about $50 or $60.
Plus, we paid for the driver's lunch with us.

I am curious about this, too. We are going to the Riu Palace next week. Should we arrange this at our hotel? and the taxi driver will just wait for you? Is there a fee for the ruins, too? Thanks.

Hi Cerlaurie,
I think any taxi driver will make a deal with you for all day. They do wait for you (seems like no big deal) our driver took a nap. We found it was cheaper and less hassel than a rental car. From PDC to Tulum is maybe 30-40 minutes. Yes, there is an entrance fee to the ruins but I don't remember how much. Tulum is worth visiting at least once as it is very dramatic perched on the cliffs above the sea. I hope this helps.
