Taxi in Mexico City

I just came back from a great tour with Gate 1 to Mayan and Aztec ruins; we'd added 2 extra days in Mexico City. Unfortunately, I broke my foot on the last day of the tour. Fortunately, I found the BEST English-speaking taxi driver through our hotel. His name is Victor M Gonzalez. He charges 750 pesos per hour. We hired him to take us where we wanted to go and to wait for us to take us to the next place. Victor has a roomy, pristine car with leather seats. He helped me with the wheelchair. He helped us make arrangements for Kahlo house and for canal tour, was entertaining, and gave us great advice. Highly recommend him. Here's his information: Victor M Gonzalez, [email protected]; cell 04455 4390 8061.

What I was thinking. Must be the entertainment surcharge.

When I googled, the conversion for 750 pesos was $37.59. Not bad at all?

10 years ago, DH and I paid a taxi driver $100 for the same service over 2 days in Palermo, Sicily.

In Oaxaca we paid $200 pesos per hour for a day out in the villages along the valleys.
