Tango show

Someone at work suggested the following Tango shows?

www.esquinacarlosgardel.com.ar
www.senortango.com.ar
www.maderotango.com.ar

Have time only for 1. Any thoughts?

All three are large productions with lots of dancing, singing and a tango orchestra. Esquina Carlos Gardel is more of a pure Tango Show while Sr Tango is more a Las Vegas or Broadway style variety show, with more theatrics and varied musical styles...by theatrics I mean horses on stage, smoke, singers on wires above the stage, that sort of thing.

We only had time for one tango show during our visit. We chose Esquina Carlos Gardel and had a fun evening. We were five guys of various ages and the variety of the dancing and singing was terrrific. We thought the food and wine was better than average and the film during dinner showing the history of Tango was very cool. There was also a bus that came by our hotel to pick us up and drop us off back at the hotel. We thought about Senor Tango as it looks like it would have been fun too, but as Dr. D mentioned we wanted something a little more pure.

If you wnat to see 1 show in BA that will blow your sox away, I would suggest you see Tanquerra. It a broadway like show that gives you the history of Tango. The choregraphy is wonderful and you the dancing is unbelievable. The price of tickets range from 75 to 30 pesos. If your budget can handle it, my recommendation is to go for the center in rows 2 to 5. We also wnet to Cafe Tortinos for a small more intimate show but it didn't have the energy of Tanquerra. Cheers

Tango shows are proliferating in Buenos Aires. I counted at least four new shows on my last trip. But I cannot find any contact information or reviews about Tanquerra. Could you provide a link or other contact information? Thanks
