Tamarindo Help

We are headed for Tamarindo in a few weeks and were not able to book all of our nights at Capitan Suizo. We also tried Sueno del Mar and Cala Luna. Any suggestions for a nice place for 2 nights? We are a family of 4. We don't like real resorty places (were not super impressed by Si Como No on our last visit to MA). We also don't like super rustic places. Something pretty, clean, comfortable, etc. Please help.

I strongly recommend Casa Cook if they have availability. They have 3 cabins and 1 apartment. Their site is www.tamarindo.com/cook/ My review of the place is on tripadvisor.com which would be an excellent resource for all Tamarindo lodging options.

Good luck!

If it were not for Capitan Suizo I would not recommend Tamarindo at all. We loved our stay at CS, but were not at all impressed with Tamarindo. If you already have a few nights there, I would suggest going to one of the other beaches just north or south. Personally, I did not see another place in Tamarindo I would like to stay.

nomar - just around the bend on the beach, not very far from Sueno del Mar on the beach (and very close to Cala Luna on the road) is Villa Alegre - an awesome B$B. The owners are Barry and Suyze Lawson of California. We stayed at Hotel Capitan Suizo but this will be my 2nd choice if I can't get in there the next time we travel there. It is on the beach (Cala Luna is not). Please go to their website. www.villaalegrecostarica.com I wish I was going to Tamarindo again soon!!

If you went to another beach north or south, which beach and lodging would you recommend. Thanks

You may want to look into some places over in Playa Grande just over the estuary from Tamarindo. It's a beautiful beach, much less crowded and there are some nice places to stay that are not right on the beach except for Las Tortugas.

If you are set on Tamarindo (which I thought was cute), you might also try the Hotel Jardin del Eden or Tamarindo El Diria for rooms (I think both have web sites). I stayed at Capitan Suizo, but thought those two hotels (as well as Cala Luna) would have also worked for me (and I don't do rustic places, either).

Thanks.I am starting to think Playa Grande might work for us. Anybody know anything about Hotelito Si Si Si? I can't find many reviews, but it looks like it may work.
