Tamarindo for a honeymoon?

I've been reading more posts about Tamarindo. This town doesn't sound like the ideal place for a relaxing honeymoon...
Can anyone provide any insight about this thought?

Thanks.

Not my idea of a relaxing honeymoon spot at all. Tamarindo has grown too fast and is suffering more than a few growing pains. Actually , it would be third only to San Jose and Jaco as the worst honeymoon locations in the country.

For a honeymoon, there are much more relaxing places that provide natural beauty. I'd look into the Osa, Peace Lodge, Villa Caletas, Vista del Valle, et al.

Thanks for the feedback. i have never been to Costa Rica, so I didn't really know what to expect. I've heard rave reviews about Tamarindo and I've heard not so rave reviews. Is the town getting to be like a typical city in America? I didn't want to be too remote, but if anyone has specifics about the town, that would be great!

Where I once loved Tamarindo, I won't even bother going for a day trip anymore. Although you'll find some great restaurants and shops, the town is congested with traffic and construction debris which makes walking around difficult. I've heard some day-trippers complain about an odor which they could smell all over town. Not what I would consider ideal for a honeymoon at all.

Go to Manuel Antonio and Playa Carrillo and the hotel Punta Islita, less than 2 hours drive from Carrillo:

Another option is to spend 3 nights at one of the luxury lodges in Osa, the 'original' Costa Rica
