Taca offering discounted flights to San Jose $300 rt from CLE

They are offering $300 rt from Cleveland--that's an amazing fare--offering many dates through Dec--fewer through the summer. Perhaps there are discounted fares from other airports. I don't know a thing about 202 Taca International Airlines. I'd sure love to take advantage of that fare. Hope someone can take advantage of this deal.

Taca is based in El Salvador and is an excellent airline. They codeshare with United from many U.S. destinations so if you were flying from CLE for example, part of your trip would be on United. You'd have to connect somewhere, maybe Miami or Washington Dulles or El Salvador.

costarog -- I'm in Seattle too. Hard to get good airfare, always end up on AA.

Taca is an excellent airline - I have flown with them a number of times both in Central America and from Costa Rica to the US. Newish planes, good staff, good food. My trips have always been uneventful -- the best kind! When I flew to Wash DC, I did change planes in San Salvador. No big deal, a nice airport and fairly new with shops and places to eat. For me, the change was painless.

I am on Taca's mailing list since they do have these specials from time to time and they are really great deals.

We're in Vancouver but we fly out of Seattle every year. It's also $729 Canadian which is close to US$ now. It use to hurt a lot more when the Canadian dollar was 60-65 cents. We spend a few days in Seattle and shop our faces off. This will be our 10th year, that comes to 60 weeks total.
I see you on this board but when and how often do you go down to Costa Rica?
I hit all the boards just to keep up.

Whoa, I had no idea you guys were paying that much. We usually go for about $400, but I guess it's a lot closer for us - just a 3-hour trip.

vgirl - Yep. I think the cheapest I've gotten was $560. Sometimes it may go lower, but not during the time I want to go. This year I paid closer to $700...I waited too long and they had just went up.

costarog - You're lucky to have 6 weeks at a time. Nice! This will be our 4th year in a row, close to 3 weeks each trip. Heading there in about a month.

We go January thru mid February. The rate today was $728 Canadian from Seattle, so that equals about $700 American. We've never gone in the green season but the air cost seems not change for whatever reason.
I know all other prices are lower though. We get enough rain at home so we don't even think about the green season.

hipvirgochick - Have a great trip. Hmm, let me think. Leaving in about 3 weeks, teacher?

Costarog - So true the prices don't vary much between seasons. Can't figure that out. No, not a teacher. . It's just me and daughter so have to wait until school's out. We have been in March and May but also like Jun-Jul.

vgirl - Yes! It's still totally worth it. . Always amazing trips.
