Swine Flu situation in Mexico?

Hi.

I am considering travelling to Mexico in September or October this year, but I'm conserned about the Swine Flu issue. Does anyone know how the situation in Mexico is now? Is it likely to be a problem in Sept/Oct?

Thanks

I guess it depends on where you go. I'm in Playa del Carmen and it's no problem here right now. I was also here last month and it wasn't a problem then either. Who knows what will happen in the fall as it's difficult to predict.

it is on the wane now but may crop back up in the fall...

Absolutely nothing here in Puerto Vallarta, but I guess some tourists from the USA/CAN might bring it down.

I represent hotels in 26 destinations through out Mexico Michelle and I can confirm that we had no reported issues anywhere with any of our hotels and their guests (and we are not all-inclusive resorts where travelers don't get out and mix with the locals). Having said that, I would use the same precautions you use back home to not catch it there. Good luck with your travel plans and let us know if you need guidance as to where you'd like to go.
