Swim with Dolphins

I'm looking for opinions on the best place for my kids to experience "swimming with dolphins" near Cancun or Cozumel. Is it Xcaret,Xel Ha,Dolphin Discovery, Isla Mujeres or Other ? Price is not a huge factor. Thanks

2 years ago I swam w/the dolphins at Xcaret. It was great and very educational. Make sure you stay for the night show!

We just returned yesterday from a week in Cancun and one of the neatest things we saw was the "swimming with dolphins" on Isla Mujeres. We are going back in March and I am so looking forward to participating. We watched this time because we didn't know what it was all about. The dolphins are such gentle creatures. We did not go to Xcaret this time although I hear the dolphin thing is just as wonderful as the one we went to. Hope this helps.

xcaret dolphins have been known to attack riders, and believe me, a dolphin bite can be wicked

Karen,
How did you get to the dolphin place at island majueres? Did you take a water taxi or was it part of a tour? We really want to swim with the dolphins there and will be down there in about a month.

Did you visit any other places?

Ron,

I did this 2 years ago at Xel-Ha, it was great. The cost was $55-$65. There was 2 types of swims. One, I think, you had less time swimming with the dolphins, this cost less. I did the more expensive (only $10 more), which included 45 minutes. 15 minutes learning about the dolphins and sitting on edge of pool getting acquainted with the dolphins, 15 minutes of swimming, and 15 minutes working with the dolphins and learning how to train them (lots of fish helps).Wherever you go, if you go by yourself as we did, go first thing to the dolphin area and sign up. Get there early as these book up fast.

Hope you have a great trip, Jamie

Hi, Excaret is a rip off. It is actually a public beach. I felt like an ant on a piece of candy. If you don't get there VERY EARLY don't go because there are limited slots for dolphin swims. Lunch was over $100.
Highly overated. Go to ISLE MUJERES.
