Sunscape Tulum & $$ question

We are going to the Sunscape Tulum over Christmas with a big family group. Does anyone know if there is a dress code for dinner in any of the restaurants? IE. Jackets for men.

Also, a general question (having never been to Mexico before) - for shopping in Playa del Carmen, etc. do you need to have pesos or can you bargain well with US dollars? Any advice would be welcomed!

Cannot tell you about Sunscape Tulum but I can tell you that US$ are prefectly acceptable to the merchants in PDC - although you might get a slightly better deal using pesos.

Please write a review on that Sunscape in Tulum...you won't need jackets...but maybe a pair of long pants for men and a collared shirt... When you go look for Rod..the gentleman in charge of re-doing resorts in the Sunscape manner...Have a blast.. We went to Sunscape in Punta Cana and loved it.. and are going back to Casa del Mar now that Sunscape has taken over...

We're going just before Christmas. From what I have read (of course, no first hand experience), it sounds like long pants are a must but no jacket is required.
