Storing luggage in Chichen-Itza Bus Station
 

I am planning on taking a morning bus from Merida to Chichen-Itza, spending the day in Chichen-Itza and taking a late afternoon bus from Chichen-Itza to Cancun. I will have several large pieces of luggage and will need to store them somewhere while I am touring Chichen-Itza. Is there a safe place in the bus station to store my luggage? Or should I rent a car (instead of taking a bus)from Merida to Cancun? If so, do you know if I can rent a car with automatic transmission in Merida and if there are any drop charges for returning the car in Cancun?

Chichen Itza has a locker area for you stuff. We left several pieces and they just tagged them and when we came back it was all matched up. No problems at all.
