Staying at Royal Hideaway Playacar but, are interested in good restaurants in Playa Del Carmen?

We are stayin six nights in June at the Royal Hideaway Playacar. I hear the food and service are wonderful - however, if we do decide to venture out a night or two in Playa Del Carmen - is it worth it?? ANy advice would be great!

Thanks!!

Six nights is alot of buffett! YES, it's worth it to venture into Playa for a change! One of my favorites is Media Luna. (It's on the northern end of Ave.5, close to the Blue Parrot.
Great food, nice, small, cozy atmosphere and very reasonable prices! Have fun!

Media Luna is a good choice(it is vegetarian). Others are Yaxche(Mayan)-this place is extremely popular. Buenos Aires(good Argentine steaks) and our favorite Casa De Aqua on fifth, upstairs-very good food, decent prices, and great service.

Hello Jane,
Agree with Yaxche. Would add La Parilla (grilled steak and seafood with a great view of downtown goings-on) and Mascaras (Italian).
